Assistants — what Mia says and how she says it
The assistant is Mia herself: what she knows about your business, how she runs a conversation, and the rules she keeps to. This page is where you change her behaviour — and the only place you need to, because changes take effect from the next call.
What makes up an assistant?
Section titled “What makes up an assistant?”An assistant consists of its knowledge base (what Mia knows about your business), its conversation guide (how she runs a call and what she may offer), and settings for language, greeting and recording. Together these produce the behaviour your callers experience.
What can I do from here?
Section titled “What can I do from here?”- Add knowledge that was missing during a call — opening hours, services, who handles what.
- Adjust the conversation guide if Mia is too long-winded, too brief, or asks follow-up questions in the wrong place.
- Turn call recording on or off — it controls whether a recording appears in the call log.
- Make a test call before letting a change loose on real callers.
When does a change take effect?
Section titled “When does a change take effect?”From the next call. There is no publish step and no waiting period: you save, you call, you hear the new behaviour. That is exactly why a short test call is worth it after every content change — it costs a minute and shows immediately whether the wording lands the way you meant it.
Why does Mia answer a question incorrectly?
Section titled “Why does Mia answer a question incorrectly?”Almost always because the answer is not in her knowledge — not because she is ignoring it. Mia deliberately invents nothing: where information is missing she deflects or offers a call back. Read the conversation back in the call log, add the missing information as knowledge, and check it with a test call. The full procedure is in Assistant gives a wrong answer.
Do I need more than one assistant?
Section titled “Do I need more than one assistant?”Usually not. One assistant per number and language covers the large majority of businesses. More only pays off when the conversation or the knowledge genuinely differ — two locations with their own opening hours, say. Two assistants with near-identical content mean double the upkeep and drift apart over time.
